Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Weight stable elderly with controlled hypertension and controlled type 2 diabetes. 2. Elderly who can perform daily activities and pursue daily walking/yoga for health. 3. BMI between 18.5-24.9 kg/m2.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Elderly with uncontrolled type two diabetes chronic kidney disease renal failure liver function impairment Chronic illness such as COPD severe heart failure or significant heart disease cancer, end stage terminal illness UnintentiOnal weight loss five kg in the last three months Those who cannot perform daily activities

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Accurate estimates of daily total energy expenditure, its components and therefore daily energy requirements for the active elderly from urban south India.Timepoint: Day 0 (baseline,4th hour and 5th hour) and Days 3,7,13 and 14.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Estimation of body composition, basal metabolic rate, physical activity, muscle strength, bone mineral density, micronutrient status, gut health, inflammatory and cardio-metabolic risk biomarkers of the active elderly along with careful characterization of the diet and quality of life.Timepoint: Day 1, Day 2, Day7, Day14
