Interventions

Intervention1: Physical Activity Promotion Program (PAPP): Physical activity promotion program administration with the help of a booklet and supervised sessions once in two weeks for total of 8 weeks.

Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Women of age between 18 to 45, diagnosed with Gestational Diabetes Mellitus before 28th weeks of gestation, understanding English or Kannada and with level of physical activity less than 600 MET min/ week and insulin resistance more than 2.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Women contraindicated to participate in the PAPP program as per suggested by an obstetrician Women diagnosed with diabetes outside of pregnancy or before pregnancy, severe musculoskeletal disorders, renal diseases, hypertension (SBP >140, DBP >90), low-lying placenta, high-risk pregnancy advised for bed rest and conceived by In-vitro Fertilization (IVF), hemodynamically significant heart diseases, restrictive lung diseases, incompetent cervix, persistent 2nd and 3rd trimester bleeding, premature labor, psychological illness Non-singleton pregnancies Addiction like smoking, alcohol consumption, tobacco consumption
