Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Both male and female of age group 25 to 65 years will be enrolled. 2. Venous ulcer developed secondary to varicose veins diagnosed by clinical examination. 3. Wound having size less than 10X10cm. 4. Subject with written informed consent.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Venous ulcer formed secondary to DVT, pressure sores, gangrenous ulcer. 2. Ulcer with feeble or absent peripheral pulses. 3. Long standing venous ulcers with malignant features. 4. Known cases of bleeding disorders. 5. Known cases of sexually transmitted infections. 6. Known cases of Diabetes Mellitus.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Reduction of ulcer size calculated by area. Reduction in microbial load assessed by grading.Timepoint: Reduction of ulcer size calculated by area assessed on 0th,7th,14th,21st and 28th day. Reduction in microbial load assessed by grading on 0th,7th,14th day.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Reduction in pain and discharge assessed by grading. Formation of granulation tissue assessed by grading.Timepoint: On 0th,7th,14th,21st and 28th day
