Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Patients with diagnosed primary knee osteoarthritis who are undergoing Total Knee Arthroplasty. 2. Age: Patients who are aged 50 to 80 years. 3. Gender: Both males and females.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Total Knee Arthroplasty group: 1. History of neurological impairments which affect lower extremity function, immunological or inflammatory diseases. 2. Patients with a major medical, cardiac, or vascular event in the past year. 3. Patients with other lower extremity orthopaedic surgeries/ injuries in the past year or conditions besides knee OA. 4. Patients who develop any acute traumatic onset lower extremity condition which requires hospitalization or bed rest during the duration of the study. 5. Patients who are not willing to participate in the study. Control group: 1. History of neurological impairments which affect lower extremity function, immunological or inflammatory diseases. 2. Patients with a major medical, cardiac, or vascular event in the past year. 3. Patients with lower extremity orthopaedic surgeries/ injuries in the past year. 4. Patients with other medical conditions that severely limits function. 5. Patients who are not willing to participate in the study.
