Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Isolated Ventricular septal defect, Ventricular septal defect with Pulmonic stenosis, Ventricular septal defect with OS Atrial septal defect .

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Acute or Chronic kidney injury Patients having culture proven infection or raised PCT >0.5ng/ml preoperatively. WBC > 12000 preoperatively. Temperature >37.5°C preoperatively . Need of CPB temperature >32°C intraopewratively

To determine the correlation between serum procalcitonin and postoperative infection .Timepoint: 1 preoperative value ,1 intraoperative value ,postoperative day 0,1,2,3,4,5

MeasureTime frame
To determine the correlation between serum procalcitonin and postoperative comorbidities ( Ionotropic support ,Mechanical ventilation duration ,ICU stay ,need of renal supportive measures)Timepoint: 1 preoperative value ,1 intraoperative value ,postoperative day 0,1,2,3,4,5.
