Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Primary (Family) caregivers aged more than 18 years and are aware of the diagnosis Primary (Family) caregivers must have cared for the patient for at least 1 year. Primary (Family) caregivers from urban and rural parts of Karnataka Primary (Family) caregivers with verbal fluency in either one of the languages, Kannada, Telugu, Hindi, and English

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Caregivers of patients with co-morbid conditions such as Human Immunodeficiency illness and Alzheimerâ??s Dementia. Caregivers caring for non-cancer patients. Caregivers of patients who are currently undergoing curative treatment. Caregivers of patients who are put under EOLC.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
The study will raise awareness about caregivers stress and burnout in the background of their loved ones suffering. Timepoint: 2 yrs

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
This may create opportunity to develop interventions based on caregivers needs helping them provide a meaningful life to reduce caregivers burden. Findings can also be valuable for understanding the challenges and strategies experience by stakeholders which could be helpful in implementing it in the policies of palliative care Timepoint: 2 years
