Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. American Society of Anesthesiologists Physical status I & II 2. BMI 3. Scheduled for microlaryngeal surgeries, under balanced general anesthesia. 4. Patients in which standard induction technique using intravenous agents and muscle relaxants followed by tracheal intubation is planned.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Local anesthetic allergy. 2. Upper airway inflammatory symptoms during the previous week. 3. Symptomatic gastric reflux despite medication. 4. Pulmonary disease. 5. Patients in which a different plan of extubation is planned in view of difficult airway.
