Intervention1: flap surgery (open flap debridement): Control site will be treated with open flap debridement in a single sitting procedure and follow-up for six months

Eligibility
Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. Teeth without root canal fillings that are extracted due to advanced periodontal bone loss or fractures which have a hopeless prognosis. 2. Patient with moderate to severe chronic periodontitis with no other systemic disease. 3. Presence of deep infra-bony defect with a probing depth of >5 mm at baseline. 4. Presence of infra-bony component of at least 3 mm as detected on the radiograph. 5. Patients with a good level of oral hygiene with Plaque Index (PI, Loe and Sillness).
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Root canal treated teeth 2. Patients with systemic disease discovered on routine investigations during the study (such as diabetes mellitus, hypertension, etc.) which could influence the outcome of the study. 3. Pregnant and lactating mothers or those planning a pregnancy. 4. History within the last 6 months of oral cancer or human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). 5. Patients with life threatening disease 6. History of previous periodontal surgery on the study tooth within the last year; 7. Patients with bleeding disorders. 8. Patients suffering from allergic conditions or a history of allergies. 9. Patients on long-term antibiotics. 10. the study tooth exhibiting a Class 3 furcation defect 11. clinical or radiographic signs of untreated acute infection at the surgical site, apical pathology, root fracture, severe root irregularities, cemental pearls; cementoenamel projections not easily removed by odontoplasty, untreated carious lesions at the cementoenamel junction (CEJ) or on the root surface, subgingival restorations, and/or restorations with open margins at or below the CEJ 12. History within the last 6 months of weekly or more frequent use of smokeless chewing tobacco, pipe or cigar smoking or smoking more than 20 cigarettes per day 13. Allergy to yeast-derived products;
