Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Closed femur shaft fractures(distal 1/3rd) 2. Only acute trauma cases were included in the study. 3. The patient must be giving consent for the study

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Intercondylar or supracondylar fracture femur(10cm from the joint line are excluded). 2. Ipsilateral associated fracture neck, trochanter 3. Segmental femur fracture 4. Open femur fracture 5. Systemic disorders like Collagen vascular disease, Malignancy, Immunodeficiency, Haematological Disease, Diabetes Mellitus

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Compare the time of union of femur fracture in both groups. (Fracture union defined by bridging of at least three out of four cortices in Ap and lateral view)Timepoint: 3YRS

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Compare the Oxford knee score of both the groups after one year.Timepoint: 3 YRS
