Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Elective Laparoscopic cholecystectomy 2. American Society of Anaesthesiologists (ASA) I or II 3. No previous operations in upper abdomen

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Ongoing Acute Cholecystitis/pancreatitis etc. 2. ASA > II 3. Substance abuse/ addiction 4. Uncontrolled comorbidities 5. Any concomitant abdominal operations 6. Major surgical complications requiring ICU/Drainage/prolonged care.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
To compare the visual analogue scale (VAS) score at 24hr after laparoscopic cholecystectomy in both the groups. Timepoint: 24 hrs

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
To compare the need for rescue analgesia during the first twenty-four-hour in postoperative period after laparoscopic cholecystectomy in both the groups. To establish the association between pre and post-operative visual analogue scale (VAS) score at 24hrs after laparoscopic cholecystectomy in both the groups. To establish the association between pre and post-operative levels of inflammatory stress markers (WBC, CRP, Sr. Cortisol, IL-6, and TNF-α) in both groups at 24 hrs. Timepoint: 24 hrs
