Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: All cases of chest trauma requiring intercostal tube drainage aged above 18yrs old

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients with- a. Associated severe head injury b. Requiring mechanical ventilator support c. Cardiac thoracic trauma d. Previous history of thoracotomy e. Flail chest or sucking open chest wound

To find the incidence of 1) Recurrent pneumothorax, haemothorax, pneumo-haemothorax 12 hours after removal of intercostal tube with and without pre-removal clamping on chest X-Ray 2) Persistent/recurrent respiratory symptoms after 12 hours of removal of tube.
