Intervention1: structured Yoga therapy along with life style modifications for a duration of three months: STRUCTURED YOGA THERAPY: This is defined as practicing the following yoga asana and pranayam

Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Adults (30-59 years) with systolic blood pressure 120 - 139 mmHg and/or diastolic blood pressure 80 - 89 mmHg

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Adults (30-59 years) with Pre-hypertension with the following conditions will be excluded i. Known cases of Hypertension on treatment ii. Severe conditions (known cases) of heart diseases, cancer, psoriasis and other life threatening conditions iii. Pregnant ladies iv. Bed ridden patients v. Known case of orthopedic disabilities vi. Known case of intellectual disabilities vii. People already participating yoga for more than 2 months.

Early screening and diagnosis of adults with pre-hypertension followed by educating them regarding life style modifications along with Yoga is expected to reduce their blood pressureTimepoint: Three months

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
It is also expected that there will be lowering of lipid profile, blood glucose level among people with raised lipid profile and raised blood glucose level respectively.Timepoint: Three months;Reduction in depression, anxiety, stress and decrease substance use or improve their intention to quit.Timepoint: Three months;Reduction in weight /BMITimepoint: Three months
