Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Patients diagnosed as having current depressive episode of mild, moderate and severe without psychotic symptoms, according to ICD-10 criteria and after psychiatric evaluation in the Out Patient Department, Central Institute of Psychiatry. 1. Age range of 18 – 50 years. 2. Both male and female. 3. Patients having minimum educational qualification of 6th pass. 4. Patients who are right handed. 5. Patients who understand English and/or Hindi. 6. Patients with a score greater than 7 on HDRS and greater than 14 on BDI-II. 7. Patients with a score greater than 10 on the rumination response scale-short form. 8. Those who gave informed consent
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: • Patients with history of co-morbid psychiatric disorders other than depression. • Patients with past history of bipolar episodes. • Patients who fulfilled the criteria for past/present suicidal attempts. • Patients with a history of neurological disorder/ organicity.
