Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: all patients who have been diagnosed with rectal cancer and will undergo curative sphincter preserving low anterior resection with partial or total mesorectal excision on or after 1st January 2020; comprehension of Urdu

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: The exclusion criteria will be as follows; presence of a permanent stoma; presence of metastatic disease; cognitive impairment and language issues; history of inflammatory bowel disease or any disease with bowel impairment issues like inflammatory bowel syndrome.

To determine Clinical Variables associated with LARSTimepoint: 2 years

MeasureTime frame
Validation of Urdu version of LARS scoreTimepoint: Self administered questionnaire will be filled in by the patient atleast 12 weeks after surgery/ ileostomy closure. Validation (primary outcome) will be done via statistical analysis after last patient is recruited.
