Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Study will include all patients between 18-65 years of age of either sex, American Society of Anesthesiologistsâ?? (ASA) physical status 1 or 2 for surgeries done below umbilicus including surgical cases ( inguinal hernia etc), gynecological surgeries, orthopedic surgeries. Patient in supine position during intraoperative period

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. All patients who do not give consent for the procedure 2. Patients who are undergoing emergency surgeries 3. Contraindications to regional technique e.g. allergy to local anesthetic drugs, infection around site of block, any coagulation disorder, sepsis. 4. Patients with BMI more than 30 kgm -2 5. Patients who are taking angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitors 6. Pregnant women 7. Patients scheduled for unilateral spinal anesthesia 8. Failure to perform spinal anesthesia 9. Patients with a baseline arterial SBP less than 90mmHg or mean arterial blood pressure (MBP) less than 60mmHg

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
To observe the preoperative values of IVCCI, dIVCmax/IVCCI ratio and IVC: Ao index in patients undergoing surgery under spinal anesthesia. To evaluate the predictive values of IVCCI, dIVCmax/IVCCI ratio and IVC: Ao index for detecting PSAH.Timepoint: One hour post induction

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
To find the incidence of PSAH To compare the predictive values of IVCCI, dIVCmax/IVCCI ratio and IVC: Ao index to detect Post Spinal Anesthesia Hypotension â?¢ To find any other clinical or perioperative variable which may predict PSAHTimepoint: One hour post induction
