Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Newly diagnosed patients of stable chronic plaque psoriasis in the age group of 10-18yrs

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Children under age of 10 years Adults more than 18 years Patients with other skin diseases known to be associated with metabolic syndrome such as vitiligo, acanthosis nigricans, lichen planus, androgenetic alopecia and systemic lupus erythematosus. Patients with history of smoking and alcoholism. Patients receiving systemic therapy for psoriasis like systemic retinoids, immunosuppressants for at least 6 weeks and any topical therapy for 4 weeks prior to enrollment in the study. Patients taking other medications known to cause hyperglycemia, hypertension and hyperlipidemia within 72 hours prior to enrollment in the study. Patients with history of endocrine disease like cushing disease, acromegaly, phaeochromocytoma, hyperthyroidism, glucagonoma.
