Design outcomes
Primary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| To compare the effect of low Fio2 (0.4) with recruitment manoeuvre during extubation against high Fio2(1) with or without recruitment manoeuvre on postoperative atelectasis measured by using lung ultrasound scoring(luss-parameter 1 used for sample size calculation as well) and oxygenation measured using Pao2 (parameter 2)and pao2/fio2 ratio(parameter 3).Timepoint: Lung ultrasound score(luss) measured -30 minutes preoperatively, 30minutes postoperatively and 24 hours postoperatively. pao2 and pao2/fio2 ratio measured using arterial blood gas - preoperatively(baseline before induction), 10 minutes after induction, 30 minutes post extubation, 6 hours postoperatively. | — |
Secondary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| Incidence of postoperative pulmonary complications like- 1.Incidence of desaturation 2.oxygen requirement 3.pneumothorax 4. post-operative pneumonia 5.post-operative icu requirement.Timepoint: Within in 24 hours post-operatively. | — |
