Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: All adult patients admitted to medical ICU and post cardiac surgical ICU and those who are not on mechanical ventilation in whom IJV/Subclavian central venous catheter is already present for other indications

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: a) Patient not consenting for Ultrasound examination b) Inadequate window c) Pregnant women d) Unable to lie supine for USG assessment e) Known case of liver cirrhosis/ portal venous thrombosis/ Inferior Vena Cava thrombus f) Patients with respiratory distress (respiratory rate more than 35, accessory muscles of respiratory in use
