Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Patient suffering from knee pain 2. Age 18-65years 3. Patients of either sex 4. Suffering from chronic knee pain for more than 3 months â?? osteoarthritis, inflammatory joint diseases, specific arthropathies, hyperuricemia and/or gout, etc. 5. Differential diagnosis established by investigation (X â??Ray, USG and other laboratory investigations as appropriate) 6. Patients already undergoing regular oral or topical analgesics or NSAID therapy for painful knee provided the medications are stopped completely at least 2 weeks prior study entry. 7. Literate patients; ability to read and write in Bengali, Hindi or English capability and willingness to give informed consent and to comply with the study procedure

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Severe degeneration of knee joint with marked joint narrowing, varus, or valgus deformity of knee ( >12°), evidenced by imaging or other evidences and requiring surgical intervention, joint or skin infections, joint prostheses of the lower limbs 2. Non-ambulant patients 3. Self-reported joint disorders other than osteoarthritis 4. Intra-articular injections within 2 weeks before study entry 5. Transplanted knees and Recent significant knee surgery within last 6 months 6. Benign tumours and malignant tumours. 7. Hemarthrosis : von Willebrand disease, haemophilia, sickle cell disease. 8. Septic-arthritis, osteomyelitis, ruptured popliteal cyst. 9. Vulnerable population - unconscious, ambulatory, too sick for consultation, differently abled, terminally or critically ill-patients, mentally incompetent people 10. Diagnosed cases of unstable mental or psychiatric illness or other uncontrolled or life-threatening illness affecting quality of life 11. Pregnancy and puerperal women and lactating mother. 12. Patient under tobacco chewing and/or smoking, alcoholism and/or any other form(s) of substance abuse and/or dependence. 13. Self-reported immune-compromised state, and 14. Undergoing homoeopathic treatment for any chronic disease within last 6 months.
