Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients presenting with signs and symptoms of Katishoola and Lumbar spondylosis. Patients within the age group of 18-60 years of either sex. Patients who are Yogya for Swedana Karma

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients below 18 years and above 60 years of age. Diagnosed patients of uncontrolled Diabetes mellitus, chronic diseases like Rheumatoid arthritis, Ankylosing spondylitis, Psoriatic arthritis. Patients having spinal tumor, malignant diseases of the pelvis, tuberculosis of vertebral bodies, Intervertebral Disc Prolapse, Congenital Anomalies like Spina Bifida. Patients having fracture/dislocation, underwent recent lumbar surgery or implanted instrumentation or prostheses. Pregnant and lactating women. Ayogya for Swedana Karma.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
The effect of swedana karma on pain threshold will be assessed and pain threshold will be measured.Timepoint: Before treatment, on the last day of first sitting, on the last day of second sitting.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Comparision will be assessed between jambeera pinda sweda and katibasti on the basis of the pain threshold measured earlier.Timepoint: After the treatment having total duration of 17 days (2 sittings of 7 days and a gap of 3 days in between them)
