Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1.Girls and women aged between 11-45 with a confirmed diagnosis of dissociative(conversion) disorder (ICD code F44) from a psychiatrist 2.Able to understand Hindi/English 3.Gave consent, Cooperative and available during the study period

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Age less than 11 or more than 45 2.Having a breathing problem such as asthma 3.Having a neurological problem 4.Pregnant 5.Taking medication for dissociative symptoms 6.Already practicing Pranayama and or Raga Chikitsa

MeasureTime frame
1 To determine the impact of Pranayama on the dissociative symptoms among girls and women. 2 To determine the impact of Pranayama along with Raga Chikitsa on the dissociative symptoms among girls and women. The impact would be measured through a standardised scale- Dissociative Experiences Measure, Oxford (DEMO) scale which has high reliability and validity. Pre/post analysis on the dissociative symptoms for base line, fourth and eighth week would be done using this DEMO scale. Timepoint: base line, 4 weeks and 8 weeks.

To study the changes in the structure, function & sugar metabolism in the brain scans(functional MRI scan) of 3 subjects who have been given the intervention on Pranayama and Raga-Chikitsa.Timepoint: Baseline, 4 weeks and 8 weeks.
