Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: American Society of Anaesthesiologists (ASA) physical status I to IV, admitted in ICU, requiring mechanical ventilation and tracheostomy.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. BMI �35 kg/m2 2. Limited neck movement 3. Cervical spine injury 4. Aberrant blood vessels in the neck 5. Thyroid or tracheal pathology 6. Previous neck surgeries 7. Anatomical distortion of trachea or preexisting tracheomalacia 8. Radiotherapy on neck region , previous or ongoing 9. Coagulopathy, clotting disorder 10. Oxygen requirement greater than 0.8 fraction of inspired oxygen (FiO2) or greater than 10 cm of water positive end expiratory pressure(PEEP) 11. Infection in the soft tissues of the neck or at the tracheostomy site
