Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Newly diagnosed TB patients 18 years of age. 2. Patients registered in study centers and about to complete the intensive phase of DOTS Treatment. 3. Able to read and write either English, Hindi, or Punjabi 4. Willing to comply with study procedures and provide written informed consent before study enrollment. 5. The patients or family members have a smartphone with an internet connection and basic mobile literacy and are able to record and send a video of ingesting DOTS to the researcher.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Severely ill (e.g., requiring hospitalization), 2. Resided in the same household where another participant was already recruited. 3. MDR cases. 4. Cases on ART therapy for HIV treatment. 5. Previously treated patients. 6. Mentally unstable condition. 7. visually blind. 8. Pregnant women.

â?¢ Feasibility of VDOT mobile application. â?¢ Treatment adherence- Measured by proportion of prescribed doses observed by video of ingesting medication and verifiable fraction (proportion of prescribed doses observed by video or verbally confirmed with the patient following an incomplete/unverifiable video submission). Timepoint: 9-12 months

Culture Conversion- Pulmonary TB patients with bacteriological confirmed TB at the beginning of treatment who will smear or culture negative in the last month of treatment and on at least one previous occasion; Timepoint: 9 to 12 months
