Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Apparently healthy individual between the age of 60 years to 80 years. Willing and able to participate in the study. Individuals with controlled systemic diseases. Individuals fit for Shamana Snehapana or Matra Basti in respective group.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Individuals below the age of 60 years and above the age of 80 years. Individuals having uncontrolled systemic diseases like HTN, DM, active neoplastic disease etc. will be excluded. Individuals unfit for Shamana Snehapana or Matra Basti in respective group.

MeasureTime frame
Sneha administered with Ashwagandha Ghrita as Matra Basti and as Shaman Snehapana may pacify the Jarajanya Vata Prakopa to improve the quality of life in geriatric population.Quality of life of subjects will be assessed by using SF-36 questionair, KATZ ADL, Geriatric Depression Scale and sign & symptoms which are reduced appetite, insomnia, constipation, loss of grasping power, exertional dyspneaTimepoint: Assessment will be done before and after the Matra Basti, Shamana Snehapana and placebo drug.
