Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: All patients of age more than 18 years with raised blood pressure, as per NPCDCS guidelines consenting for the study will be included in the study. We would include only residents of Bhopal who have stayed for most of the last 6 months.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: We would exclude patients who have already been diagnosed CVD end stage complication like stroke or myocardial infarction or CHF or Atrial Fibrillation etc, or had undergone surgery such as PTCA or CABG, for blocked arteries requiring hospitalization or end stage renal disease or other severe co-morbidities. We would also exclude those patients who donâ??t understand either English or Hindi as well those patients whose mental status preclude understanding nature of the study. We would also exclude patients who canâ??t read or listen to the advice provided due to disabilities such as blindness and deafness.
