Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: �Lumbar spine deformity: kyphosis, lordosis or scoliosis �Poorly palpable or impalpable spinous processes. �BMI � 30 kg/m2

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Refusal for spinal anaesthesia 2. Coagulopathy 3. INR > 1.5, platelet count 4. Local site infection 5. Allergy to local anaesthetic drugs 6. Patients having any contraindications to spinal anaesthesia

Time taken to identify the best intervertebral space by palpation to time taken from insertion of needle to acquisition of CSFTimepoint: 24 hrs
