Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Age > 18 years 2. Informed consent 3. All the patients undergoing laparoscopic nephrectomy, whether it is for benign or malignant disease, will be included in the study.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. ASA >3 2. Laparoscopic nephrectomy converted to open nephrectomy. 3. Previous history of abdominal surgery 4. Patients in whom the retrieval incision will be changed intraoperatively. 5. Patient not consenting 6. Patient undergoing partial nephrectomy

MeasureTime frame
Surgical site pain in the immediate postoperative period using VASTimepoint: 4th hourly up to 48 hours

Secondary

B) Intraoperative blood loss using gauze visual analogue C) Total operating time. D) Retrieval time E) Length of incision - Will be measured using callipers F) Cosmesis related to scar using Manchester scar scale at 3 months G) Surgical wound-related complications in the immediate postoperative period using Southampton grading. H) Duration of hospital stay Timepoint: Cosmesis at 3 months
