Health Condition 1: K123- Oral mucositis (ulcerative)

Interventions

Intervention1: vitamin D gel: topical oral application of pea sized gel for three times in a day for 15 days Control Intervention1: conventional agents: chlorhexidine mouthwash 5ml three times per day

Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Patient willing to be a part of the study and sign the written informed consent. 2. Adult patients histologically confirmed with head and neck carcinoma, planned for external beam radiotherapy as postoperative (adjuvant) or definitive therapy at a dose 50-70 Gy.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients under anticoagulant agents and those are mentally or physically special.

To evaluate the effectiveness of Vitamin D oral gel using WHO Oral Mucositis assessment scale and Numeric rating scale for assessment of Pain and discomfort intensity.Timepoint: All patients will be evaluated clinically on 2nd, 4th and 6th week.	—
