Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Children diagnosed with T1DM for more than one year and between the age group of 6 years and 18 years, will be included in the study.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: T1DM children with co-morbidity will be excluded from study. Children/adolescents will be excluded if they had T1DM for less than 1-year, celiac disease, or medications (other than insulin) which will affect their blood glucose levels (e.g., steroids). Subjects who are reluctant to sign in consent form will be excluded.

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Adherence to carbohydrate counting may have an impact on the metabolic control of children with T1DM. As a measure of impact, every 3 months, HbA1C and Lipid profile will be measured.Timepoint: 6 Months (The parameters i.e. HbA1C and Lipid profile, will be captured twice and will be compared with baseline values)

MeasureTime frame
Determine the dietary prescription practices for children with T1DM in India. The height and weight of the participants will be measure every 3 months and compared with baseline.Timepoint: 6 Months
