During planned surgery, after the start of general anaesthesia, maintenance and recovery from anaesthesia will be done either by Bispectral index or alveolar concentration of the anaesthetic agent.

Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: ASA 1 and 2 Surgical time between 60 to 180 mins

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Pregnant patients 2.Patients with any psychiatric illness or on psychoactive medication 3.Patients with known or suspected EEG abnormalities like epilepsy 4.Neurosurgery patients 5.History of drug or alcohol abuse 6.BMI >30kg/m2
