Eligibility
Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. Admitted in medical ICUs during the study period 2. Diagnosis of sepsis (defined as suspected or documented infection and an acute increase of >=2 SOFA points) with or without septic shock (defined as sepsis AND vasopressor therapy needed to elevate MAP>=65mmHgandlactate >2mmol/L or >18 mg/dL despite adequate fluid resuscitation)
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Baseline eGFR 2. Receiving dialysis at time of admission 3. ICU stay of less than 72 hours
