Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Children aged between 01 year and 12 years who are admitted to PICU with sepsis

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Children less than one year of age 2. Children with obesity 3. Any clinical/abdominal condition obscuring visualization of kidneys by USG 4. Children with known Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) 5. Children with CAKUT (Congenital anomalies of kidney and urinary tract) 6. Children with Chronic Systemic Hypertension

MeasureTime frame
Prognostic accuracy of Renal Resistive Index at admission to predict the development of acute kidney injury in critically ill children with sepsisTimepoint: Renal Resistive Index will be measured within 12 hours after admission to PICU. Urinary NGAL level will be measured within 12 hours of PICU admission. Renal function tests and Serum electrolytes are measured at admission and daily for initial 5 days
