Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1.Age more than 18 years 2.Patient having recurrent and symptomatic pleural effusion

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Previous pleural procedures (except for thoracocentesis and/or pleural biopsy). 2.Cognitive impairment or comprehension deficit. 3.Coagulopathies (PT INR >1.5, and/or thrombocytopenia (platelet count 4.Active pleural or systemic infection. 5.Unstable cardiovascular status i.e. hemodynamic instability requiring inotropes/vasopressors, recent myocardial infarction 6.Refusal to participate

Primary

MeasureTime frame
The success of pleurodesis will be evaluated by calculating Pleural Adhesion Score at the time of discharge from palliative care ward, at one week of pleurodesis and at one month of pleurodesis.Timepoint: At the time of discharge, at 1 week and at 1 month

1.To assess severity of dyspnea in patients after pleurodesis with or without respiratory physiotherapy (deep breathing exercises, pursed lip breathing and incentive spirometry) 2.To assess improvement in quality of life in patients after pleurodesis with or without respiratory physiotherapy (deep breathing exercises, pursed lip breathing and incentive spirometry)Timepoint: At the time of discharge, at 1 week and at 1 month
