Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients belonging to the age group 18-60 years with ASA grade I, II and grade III undergoing elective or emergency procedure for hip fracture surgeries.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Allergy to local anaesthetic drugs 2.Seizure disorders 3.Baseline pain score 4.Cognitive dysfunction and unable to understand pain scoring system 5.Contraindication for CNB

Primary

MeasureTime frame
To assess the pain score during positioning of patients for spinal anesthesia.Timepoint: Intensity or degree of dynamic pain relief will be assessed at 10, 20 and 30 minutes. Patient will be positioned for spinal anesthesia if the dynamic pain score has reduced to 0 at any point of assessment, if two consecutive dynamic pain scores are â?¤ 2.5, if the dynamic pain is 2.5 at 30 mins.

MeasureTime frame
To note the sitting angle. Timepoint: The sitting angle of the patient during spinal anaesthesia will be noted on subjective scale as able to lean forward, sitting straight or leaning backward on attempting to sit if the dynamic pain score has reduced to 0 at any point of assessment, if two consecutive dynamic pain scores are â?¤ 2.5, if the dynamic pain is 2.5 at 30 mins.
