Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Normotensive (SBP < 130 mmHg and DBP <85 mmHg) ( according to International society of Hypertension, global hypertension practice guidelines, AHA, 2020)

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Structural heart disease any other CVs disorder eg history of MI heart failure orthostatic intolerance or any cardiovascular medications CNS disease eg Parkinson disease stroke or Alzheimer dementia Head injury psychotropic drug abuse alcohol abuse or nicotine dependence. Any chronic illness like Diabetes mellitus Chronic liver failure Chronic renal failure Thyrotoxicosis or Myxoedema History of recurrent or unexplained syncope Previous scalp wounds and pre-existing skin diseases of the forehead.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
1. Heart rate and BP systolic, diastolic and MAP during standard 15 second epochs during each phase, pre and post stimuli. 2. For first 10 minutes resting cardiovascular tone assessment HRV and BPV parameters: LF power HF power LF/HF ratio SDRR RMSSD and pRR50. Frequency resolved analysis of fNIRS parameters: LF power HF power LF/HF ratio 3. Frequency resolved analysis of HR BP and fNIRS recordings for Paced breathing at 0.1 Hz, head up tilts at 30°and 60° and head down tilt at -6° Timepoint: Recording of a subject will be done on two different days within a week based on fixed paradigms and pre training of subjects.
