Intervention1: Deflazacort, Acetaminophen: Tapered course of oral steroid (deflazacort 6mg) will be given thrice daily for first week, twice daily for second week and once daily for a third week along

Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Clinical early stage of periarthritis ( Stage 1 and 2) Shoulder pain and stiffness in one or both shoulder for 3 weeks or more. Restriction of passive motion by 30 degrees in two or more planes. Mild to moderate pain ( VAS score 1-6)

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Systemic inflammatory joint disease Oral steroids used in previous 3 months Uncontrolled Diabetes mellitus Pregnancy Contraindication to oral steroids Radiological evidence of osteoarthritis of shoulder or fracture Calcification around shoulder joint Reason to suspect a complete rotator cuff tear Septic arthritis shoulder
