Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Patients with the diagnosis of BD as per ICD-10 criteria. Aged 18 years and above .Both sex Patients who can speak Tamil or English. YMRS (young mania rating scale) HDRS (Hamilton depression rating scale) Patients who are on lithium treatment for more than 6 month
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Patients with co-morbid psychiatric illness. Patients with cognitive impairment (Intellectual disability, following stroke, dementia)

| The study is intended to assess the effect of a patients educational programme on lithium related knowledge and attitude compliance and quality of life among patients with BD. It is expected to shed light on knowledge and attitude, compliance and quality of life regarding lithium therapy and directly enhances the medication adherence, reduces relapse rate and psychiatric emergency like suicide and lithium toxicity among patients with BD. The findings may be useful to plan and incorporate educational interventions as part of routine care in psychiatric unit.Timepoint: after one month of enrollment | — |
