Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Newly diagnosed cases of Pulmonary Tuberculosis confirmed by sputum smear and culture or positive for AFB by molecular testing (Expert). 2. Age between 18 yrs and 65 yrs and willing to provide informed consent. 3. Agreement to participate in the study and to give a sample of sputum and blood for lab investigations.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Persons with HIV (PLHIV), Diabetes Mellitus, malnourished, cancer and patients on immunosuppressant or maintenance steroid therapy. 2. Extra-pulmonary TB patients. 3. Pregnant and lactating women.
