Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: All patients above 18 years, who are planned for a total laparoscopic hysterectomy due to benign conditions such as symptomatic uterine fibroids, abnormal uterine bleeding, endometriosis and pelvic pain.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients with endometrial/ ovarian /cervical cancers. Patients with known hematological disorders or bleeding disorders. Patients not willing to participate

MeasureTime frame
vaginal cuff closure time, blood loss during operationTimepoint: vaginal cuff closure time, blood loss during operation is noted during the operation which can be considered as time 0.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
postoperative fever, palpable sutures present, vaginal bleeding, vaginal discharge, cuff separation, cuff cellulitis, granulation tissue, duration of hospital stay, and the need for readmission.Timepoint: at 2weeks, 6 weeks and 12 weeks
