Intervention1: 0.75% Hyperbaric Ropivacaine: intrathecal injection of 0.75% Hyperbaric Ropivacaine will be given to the patients after randomization. Control Intervention1: 0.5% hyperbaric Bupivacaine

Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1)Patients of ASA I and II categories 2)Lower abdominal, perineal surgeries

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1)Known allergy to local anesthetics, 2)Not willing for spinal anesthesia, 3)Local skin site infection at the spinal injection site, 4)Patients with cardiac, renal, and hepatic diseases and 5)Coagulopathy

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
To estimate the duration of Post-operative analgesia.Timepoint: at 0 minute,10 minute,15 minute,30 minute and 60 minute and then at every 30 minutes during the first 2hours and then hourly till the next 12 hours.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
To estimate the time taken for the onset of sensory and motor blockade. To estimate the intra-operative hemodynamics changes. To estimate the side effects associated with the drugs. Timepoint: every2 minutes for first 30 minutes, every 5minutes thereafter till the end of the procedure, every 30 minutes until 4 hours and hourly until 12 hours.
