Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Participants between age group18 years- 55 years 2. Patient treated with curative intent with surgery and/or radiation and/or chemotherapy for cancer of buccal mucosa. 3. Mouth opening between 25mm-10mm 4. Willing to follow up with Occupational Therapy Department for 3 days for training and every 15 days for 3 months (total visits 9). 5. Intact upper and lower incisors. 6. Resident of Mumbai 7. Able to comprehend, read and write the English language.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Severe trismus less than 10mm. 2. Trismus more than one-year post-surgery and or radiotherapy. 3. Patients having trismus due to derangement of the temporomandibular joint or other intracapsular reasons. 4. Patient having crooked upper and lower front incisors cause difficulty in measuring mouth opening. 5. Jaw alignment issues causing difficulty in measuring mouth opening. 6. Patient with Naso-gastric tube 7. Cognitive impairments.

MeasureTime frame
Pre and post exercise session mouth opening will be measured during three days training period by the maximal interincisal distance from the central incisors with vernier calliper in â??cmâ??.Timepoint: at the time of enrollment, pre-exercise and post-exercise session of each training day, every 15 days follow-up after completion of an exercise session, and 3 months after enrollment

MeasureTime frame
Functional assessment will be carried out using â??Jaw Limitation Functional Scale.â?? Timepoint: at the time of enrollment and 3 months after enrollment;Pain Assessment with 10cm VAS scale. Location of pain will be assessed like ear, jaw and head/forehead Timepoint: at the time of enrollment, pre-exercise and post-exercise session of each training day, every 15 days follow-up after completion of an exercise session, and 3 months after enrollment
