Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Inborn neonates 30 0/7 to 34 6/7 wks of gestation requiring resuscitation at birth 2. Informed parental consent

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Neonates born at gestation less than 30 wks or more than or equal to 35 weeks 2. Babies not requiring resuscitation at birth 3. Outborn babies 4.Major lethal congenital anomalies or known/suspected chromosomal anomalies 5.Fetal hydrops 6.Rh isoimmunization 7.Multiple gestation 8.Cord prolapse, cord abnormalities such as true knots 9.Short umbilical cord length 10.No parental consent 11. Those whose residence does not lie within 20 kms radius from our unit
