Interventions

Intervention1: Yoga Therapy: Children with ASD practice yoga for 60 minutes per session, 2 sessions per week along with regular school routine for 30 sessions. Control Intervention1: Waitlist Control:

Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Mild autism (CARS2-HF between 15 and 28). Moderate autism (CARS2-HF between 28 and 33.5) Children with ASD and attention deficit hyperactive disorder (ADHD), or gastrointestinal problems.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Children with ASD who are unable to respond to verbal and visual cues. Other co-morbidities such as eczema, allergies, severe headaches, migraines, asthma, ear and respiratory infections, and seizures. Unable to perform the yogic techniques.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Hand grip strength, Visual reaction time, Blood pressure, Heart rate and Body mass index are used to determine the effects of yoga therapy.Timepoint: The outcome will be assessed at baseline, and completion of 15th session and 30th sesssion.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Childhood Autism Rating Scale will be used to determine the reduction of autism severity in children with ASD.Timepoint: The outcome will be assessed at baseline, and completion of 15th session and 30th sesssion.
