Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Elective surgery under general anaesthesia Physical Status-ASA Class I and II

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Subjects who are allergic to propofol and fentanyl,history of Diabetes Mellitus, Coronary Artery Disease, Hypertension,pregnant women, any known neurological disorder,on psychotropic drugs , deaf and dumb, difficult intubation, BMI >35 for females and >40 for males

To determine whether Fentanyl would significantly reduce the effect site concentration of propofol required to abolish response to verbal commands or loss of response to noxious stimulusTimepoint: 2 months

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
To determine relation between effect site concentration of propofol and objective end point of sedation (Bispectral index of 60)during propofol anaesthesia with or without FentanylTimepoint: 2 months
