Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: All patients with age greater than 18 years admitted to ICU will be included

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: a.Consent refusal b.Post-cardiac arrest resuscitated patient prior to ICU admission c.Patients with chronic kidney disease. d.Pregnant and lactating mothers e.Patients with jaundice, anaemia, liver disease and history of hemoglobinopathies. f.Terminally ill Cancer patients . g.Patients receiveing massive blood transfusion.

Primary

MeasureTime frame
To determine association of glycosylated hemoglobin with ICU Mortality.Timepoint: 28 days

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
To determine association of glycosylated hemoglobin with ICU morbidity 1.Duration of mechanical ventilation, 2.Use of Inotropes/Vasopressor 3.Requirement of renal replacement therapy 4.Length of ICU stay Timepoint: till hospital discharge or death and 28 day mortality by telephonic follow up
