Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Patients with morbid obesity of both genders, aging between 18 and 65 years undergoing LSG will be included. 2. Patients with a Body mass index BMI >37.5 kg/m2 or BMI >32.7 kg/m2 with obesity related comorbidities (Diabetes mellitus, hypertension, obstructive sleep apnoea, non- alcoholic fatty liver, hyperlipidaemia).

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Cerebrovascular events in the past 2. Cardiovascular events (ST changes, Q wave changes, pacemaker placement, angina, myocardial infarction, Left Bundle Branch Block, Right Bundle Branch Block) 3. Peripheral vascular disease 4. Valvular heart disease 5. Psychiatric disease (Binge eating, severe depressive disorder, bipolar disease)

Change in carotid intima-media thickness 3 months after laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy.Timepoint: Before and 3 months after laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy.

1. Correlation of percentage excess weight loss with the change in CIMT 3 months after LSG. 2. Change in Echocardiographic parameters of LVF 3 months after LSG 3. Correlation of percentage excess weight loss with the change in echocardiographic parameters of LVF 3 months after LSG. Timepoint: Before and 3 months after laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy.
