Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Children from 0- 7 years of age. 2. Undergoing anaesthesia for procedures lasting more than 30 minutes 3. Use of a microcuff endotracheal tube. 4. Children undergoing surgery in the supine position

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Children undergoing anaesthesia for head and neck procedures 2. Positions other than supine position

MeasureTime frame
To measure cuff pressure after intubation and to identify patients requiring cuff deflationTimepoint: Immediately after intubation and cuff inflation

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
To calculate the total volume of air needed to inflate or deflate to keep the intracuff pressure less than 15 mm of HgTimepoint: Till the end of the anaesthetic or 5 hours;To determine the frequency of inflation or deflation required in patients during the course of surgery.Timepoint: Every 15 mins till the end of the case or 5 hours;To observe the continuous trend of intracuff pressure every 15 minutesTimepoint: Every 15 mins till the end of the case or 5 hours
