Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. Patients with depression and periodontitis. 2. Patient should have minimum 20 teeth other than third molars. Periodontitis criteria Stage 1 and 2 generalized Periodontitis patients as per the 2017 periodontitis classification Depression criteria Diagnosis of depression will be made using ICD-10 criteria, In typical depressive episodes of all three varieties a. (mild (F32.0), b. moderate (F32.1), and c. severe (F32.2 and F32.3)
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. History of systemic disease or condition that is reported to be associated with periodontal disease, including diabetes mellitus, osteoporosis, rheumatoid arthritis, chronic renal failure, cardiovascular disease, and pregnancy. 2. Treatment with the following drugs in the previous 3 months: antibiotics, anti-inflammatories, steroids, immunosuppressants, lipid-lowering drugs, anticoagulants, bisphosphonates, and host modulatory drugs. 3. Patients on anyantidepressant medication besides Paroxetine andFluoxetine. 4. Patients who have undergone periodontal treatment (non-surgical or surgical) 6 months prior to the study
