Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: WOMEN MORE THAN OR EQUAL TO 18 YRS WITH SINGLETON PREGNANCY IN EARLY LABOR ATTENDING JIPMER DURING THE STUDY PERIOD UNDERGOING VAGINAL DELIVERY.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: -PREVIUOS H/O VAGINAL DELIVERY, -PREVIOUS H/O COMPLETE PERINEAL TEAR. -PREVIOUS H/O PERINEAL SURGERIES -MULTIPLE PREGNANCIES -WOMEN DELIVERING BY CESAREAN SECTION AFTER THE ONSET OF LABOR

MeasureTime frame
Short perineal length is directly proportional to perineal tear ,hence women with short perineal length are at increased risk of perineal tear.Timepoint: 1st time is , During first stage of labour: that is when the cervical dilatation is less than 4 cm 2nd time is during the second stage of labour , that is when the cervical dilatation is 10 cm (less than or equal to 2 hrs from first time point)
