Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1.Age group of 20 to 40 years. 2.Presence of not less than 24 teeth. 3.Patients with Angles class I molar relationship. 4.Maxillary first molars with mesio- occlusal or disto-occlusal caries indicated for root canal treatment. 5.Pulpal diagnosis of symptomatic irreversible pulpitis without symptomatic apical periodontitis. 6.Presence of opposing, adjacent and contralateral teeth with vital pulp.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Maxillary first molars with extensive caries; non carious cervical lesions; class V carious lesions; subgingival caries. 2.Pulpal diagnosis of necrosis or apical periodontitis. 3.Presence of fixed prosthesis. 4.Patients undergoing active orthodontic treatment. 5.Periodontally compromised teeth. 6.Presence of malocclusion.
